Carola Weber (Elekabi) – Painting Inner Worlds in Luzern 2025

From Photography to Painting

Born in Leipzig in 1962, Carola Weber first established herself in photography, documenting architecture, urban spaces, and music. She contributed to projects such as the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Emscher Park, developing a strong visual language.

Over time, however, painting became her true medium. Since 2021, she has worked primarily with acrylic on canvas, blending her photographic eye with an intuitive painterly approach.

Her paintings often explore love, longing, transformation, and human connection. Figures and symbols emerge from inner processes, balancing fragility and strength. Colors carry emotion and atmosphere, while fragments of her photographic work occasionally surface in new, symbolic contexts.

Participation in Luzern

At the Contemporary Art Fair Luzern 2025, Carola Weber will present a selection of works that reflect her evolving artistic voice. Intuitive, personal, and layered with meaning, her paintings invite viewers to engage with both the visible image and the emotions beneath it.
