Carola Weber

Carola Weber known artistically as Elekabi, was born in Leipzig in 1962 and dreamed of becoming a painter from an early age. Yet for many years her life took paths far removed from this wish, shaped by personal circumstances stronger than her longing. An artistic outlet first appeared in 1993, when she turned to photography. Focusing on architecture, cityscapes, and musicians, she participated in numerous regional exhibitions and collaborated on projects within the framework of the International Building Exhibition (IBA) Emscher Park.
For decades she worked in professions that did not truly reflect her inner nature. Gradually, she began to free herself from these structures, writing poetry and texts, and eventually returning to painting—her original dream. Since 2021, she has devoted herself intensively to acrylic on canvas.
