Thomas Welti

Thomas Welti was born in 1955 in Baden, Switzerland.

1993 studied sculpture at the Zurich School of Design and attended various advanced training courses in sculpture. Since 1996 works in his own studio in Ghizzano di Peccioli/Pisa (Tuscany). The tuscanian landscape and the silence have influenced him in the creation of his sculptures, installations and paintings. The sculptural work of Thomas Welti combines the contemporary idea of form with the old craft of the sculptor and the ceramist. The main theme of his work is the human body, especially the female nude, in its slightly abstract representation.

Since1997 has had national and international solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Germany, France, UAE, Austria.
